The canine desk
The Breed Register follows registrations with The Royal Kennel Club in the United Kingdom, breed by breed, from the Royal Kennel Club’s own published statistics. Registrations are one of the few public measures of demand in dog breeding.
Figures are shown as the Royal Kennel Club publishes them, with the period they cover and a link to the source. Equanine does not estimate or adjust them.

The 30 breeds with the most registrations in 2024, as published by The Royal Kennel Club in its Quarterly Registration Statistics for the Gundog, Hound, Pastoral, Terrier, Toy, Utility and Working Groups. Rank is Equanine’s ordering of the published 2024 figures. The files do not print an overall rank. Change is Equanine’s calculation from the published figures. n/a: the Toy group file used covers 2024 onwards, so Toy breeds have no 2023 figure here.
