What it supplies
Cheveley Park Stud is a thoroughbred stud farm in Newmarket. Its website says the stud extends to just under 1,000 acres and includes the Sandwich, Strawberry Hill, Ashley Heath and Warren Hill divisions. A welcome message signed by Patricia Thompson CBE says she and her late husband, David, bought the stud in 1975, when it was in receivership and had dwindled to 270 acres, and describes it as Newmarket’s oldest stud farm.
The stud stands the stallion Vandeek, which it describes as a champion two-year-old. The site says it has more than 80 broodmares, consigns drafts at the sales and races more than 60 horses in training with nine trainers. Horses it names include its homebred Queen’s Trust and Inspiral, whose first three dams it bred.
