About the race

The All-Star Mile is a Group 1 weight-for-age race over 1600m at Flemington for three-year-olds and upwards, run on the Victoria Racing Club’s Super Saturday card in March alongside the Newmarket Handicap. The VRC says the race was added to Flemington’s programme in 2025, has found a permanent home over the Flemington mile and is the newest Group 1 on the Victorian calendar. The 2026 running was sponsored by Sharp EIT.

The 2025 running, on 8 March, was won by Tom Kitten, ridden by Ben Melham and trained by J. Cummings, from Mr Brightside and Light Infantry Man. The IFHA rated it at 117.00, 67th in its list of the world’s top 100 Group 1 races of 2025. Tom Kitten won again on 7 March 2026, this time for trainers Anthony & S Freedman with C Williams riding, from Evaporate and Pride Of Jenni.
