About the race

The Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup is a 2400m turf race at Sha Tin, staged by The Hong Kong Jockey Club in May as the final leg of the Hong Kong Triple Crown. It is open to three-year-olds and upwards, including overseas entries, and carries HK$13 million. The club traces the race to 1870, when it was first run as the Champion Stakes. The 2025 running on 25 May went to Voyage Bubble, ridden by James McDonald and trained by Ricky Yiu, by three and a half lengths from Rubylot and Cap Ferrat. The win made him the second Triple Crown winner after River Verdon and earned a HK$10 million bonus. Romantic Warrior won on 24 May 2026.
