What it supplies
The Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) is a research and diagnostic laboratory in Dubai. Its website states that it was founded in 1985 by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and that it provides testing and research facilities to the United Arab Emirates and neighbouring countries.
CVRL describes its role as diagnostic testing for diseases in camels, horses, falcons, cattle, small ruminants, birds, fish, bees and zoo and pet animals, for veterinarians and animal owners, together with pre-import testing intended to prevent the introduction of exotic animal diseases. Its 13 listed departments include analytical chemistry, biochemistry and haematology, pathology and cytology, serology, bacteriology, parasitology and virology, alongside a Camelid Antibody Facility Unit, a Houbara Breeding Centre and a Wildlife Protection Office. The home page announces proximate analysis of feed as a new service.
