What is planned

Dubai Racing Club announced on 9 September 2026 that George Scott, a Group 1-winning trainer based in Newmarket, will open a 20-box base at Meydan Racecourse this winter, in a barn outside the international quarantine stables. The Bahrain racing operation Victorious Forever will underpin the venture. Scott expected his horses to ship to Dubai in mid-November, aiming for races before Christmas including the Festive Friday fixture on 18 December.

From the base, horses can run at local fixtures at Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Jebel Ali as well as Dubai Racing Carnival meetings at Meydan. The club named five horses in the initial Dubai string. No cost or lease terms were disclosed. Dubai Racing Club also reported that Mike and Mathew de Kock had applied for international stables, without further detail.
