Sharjah 24, which describes itself as the official digital news platform for the Sharjah Government, reported on 3 March 2025 that the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) had completed a dedicated equine orthopaedic unit at the Equine Hospital in Al Bada’a, Sharjah. The unit is intended to diagnose and treat bone and joint problems in horses and expands the specialised care the hospital offers.
The hospital has also acquired an MRI machine designed for scanning standing horses, the report said. No cost, floor area, opening date or staffing figures were given, and the report did not name the unit’s clinical leads.
