What is planned

Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) announced a horse racing venue for Qiddiya City, outside Riyadh, on 10 February 2026, MEED reported, and The Stadium Business reported that it is set to become the permanent home of the Saudi Cup. The Qiddiya City website lists a 2,200 m turf track with the first straight mile in the GCC, a 2,400 m inner dirt track, a 110 m parade ring, a grandstand for 21,000 that can take up to 70,000 with a temporary overlay, and an equine hospital with isolation stables and operating rooms.

MEED reported on 1 July 2026 that QIC had awarded the construction contract, estimated at SR4.3bn, to Taj Dhabi, a local unit of Trojan Construction. No opening date or total project cost appears on the Qiddiya City page. QIC and the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia were expected to sign a memorandum of understanding, according to The Stadium Business.
