What is planned

The Jockey Club announced on 16 March 2026 plans for significant investment in the owners’ and trainers’ facilities at Aintree, with more space for connections, including syndicates. The plans also include a permanent structure overlooking the Red Rum Garden for use on racedays and for outdoor events, new racegoer facilities and enclosures in the centre of the course during the Randox Grand National Festival with supporting infrastructure, and improvements to the on-course irrigation system.

The works form part of a five-year programme across The Jockey Club’s racecourses that followed a 20-year partnership with Levy, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland, which The Jockey Club said is worth £100 million to it. Group Chief Executive Jim Mullen had said in December 2025 that the organisation would invest tens of millions of pounds. No cost, timetable or planning status was given for the Aintree works.
