What is planned

The Jockey Club announced on 16 March 2026 a major revamp of the main racecourse entrance at Epsom Downs, upgrades to the Duchess Stand for racedays, conferences and events, and a full refurbishment of the Queen Elizabeth II Stand. The same announcement said millions of pounds would be spent on transforming the Derby, without naming specific projects.

The Epsom works are part of a five-year programme across The Jockey Club’s racecourses that followed a 20-year partnership with Levy, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland, which The Jockey Club said is worth £100 million to it. The joint venture with Levy, renamed Jockey Club Experiences, will also oversee hospitality packages, conferencing, non-raceday events and retail. No cost, timetable or planning status was given for the Epsom works.
