About the race

The Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud is a Group 1 race over 2,400 metres on turf at Saint-Cloud, just outside Paris, run by France Galop in late June or early July. It is open to four-year-olds and upwards; France Galop says it has been restricted to older horses since 2005. The race was first run in 1904 at Maisons-Laffitte as the Prix du Président de la République. It is one of France Galop’s eight Arc Races, whose winners receive a wild card into the Arc if eligible. Prize money was EUR 400,000 in 2026.

The 2025 running on 29 June was won by the gelding Calandagan, trained by Francis-Henri Graffard and ridden by Mickaël Barzalona. The IFHA rated it at 120.00, joint 26th in the world for 2025. Calandagan won again on 5 July 2026, which France Galop said made him the first gelding to win the race twice.
