About the race

The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is staged by France Galop over 2,400 metres on turf at ParisLongchamp in early October. It is open to three-year-olds and upwards, colts and fillies. France Galop says the race was created in 1920. Its board decided in June 2026 to admit geldings from 2027, and the European Pattern Committee approved the change in August 2026. The purse is EUR 5 million, which France Galop calls the biggest in French racing, and QREC has been official partner since 2008.

On 5 October 2025 Daryz, ridden by Mickaël Barzalona and trained at Chantilly by Francis-Henri Graffard for the Aga Khan Studs, beat Minnie Hauk by a head. France Galop said it gave the Aga Khan family a record eighth Arc. The IFHA rated that running at 123.75, sixth in the world. Daryz won again on 4 October 2026. The 2027 running is set for Sunday 3 October.
