About the race

The Prix Jean Prat is a Group 1 race over 1,400 metres on the straight course at Deauville-La Touques for three-year-olds, run by France Galop in July. In 2026 it was the first Group 1 of the Deauville summer and was run as the Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Prix Jean Prat, worth EUR 400,000. France Galop traces the race to 1858, when it was set up as the Prix Biennal; it took the Jean Prat name in 1940, was cut to a mile in 2005 and to seven furlongs in 2019.

On 6 July 2025 Woodshauna, ridden by Christophe Soumillon and trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, beat Maranoa Charlie and The Lion In Winter. The IFHA rated that running at 117.50, joint 58th in the world for 2025. On 12 July 2026 the Irish-trained Thesecretadversary won by half a length from True Love for trainer Fozzy Stack.
